Good Questions, Honest Answers
Everything Erie neighbors usually want to know before their first visit — and if we missed one, just call.
What areas around Erie do you serve?
We're based in Erie (16501) and cover roughly a 20-mile radius. That's the whole city — the West Bayfront, Frontier, Glenwood and the East Side — plus nearby townships like Millcreek, Harborcreek and Fairview. If you're near the bay, call and we'll usually make it work.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. For most work we can lock in a firm price off a couple of photos and a short phone call. Larger projects get a free look in person. Either route, you'll have a clear figure in hand before anything gets scheduled.
How does pricing work — do you charge by the hour?
Wherever it's possible we price the job rather than the hour, so the cost is known going in. For open-ended punch-list visits we settle on a rate and a rough scope up front so nothing catches you off guard. And if the work turns out simpler than expected, the price shifts in your favor.
Are you insured and registered?
Yes. We carry general-liability insurance and we're happy to show proof, and we hold an active PA Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) registration as the state requires. We're locally based here in Erie, so we stand behind the work and we're a phone call away if a question comes up afterward.
What kinds of jobs do you handle — and what don't you?
We cover the broad middle of home repair and upkeep: drywall, doors, mounting, fixtures, fences, gutters, painting, winter prep and the never-ending punch list. Pennsylvania doesn't test or license general handyman work, though it does require registration for home-improvement work over $5,000 a year, which we hold. And once a job reaches into new electrical circuits, gas lines or major plumbing, that's licensed-trade ground — we'll say so plainly and steer you to a licensed pro we'd hire ourselves.
Can I just text you a photo of the problem?
Go ahead — it's the quickest route to a quote. A sharp photo or two plus a line about what's happening is usually enough for us to price it and talk timing without coming out first.
How do I schedule, and how far out are you booked?
Phone or text us and we'll pin down the soonest opening that suits you. We can normally get out within a few days, and we speed things up for urgent trouble like a winter leak or an ice-dam problem that can't sit.
How can I pay?
We accept the usual easy methods and keep the whole thing simple. You'll know the agreed price before we begin, and payment comes due once the work is finished and you're happy with it.
